Why we built Pair

Pair started with a question the four of us kept arriving at from different directions: why is finding the right psychologist so HARD.
Between us we had all spent years on both sides of the system: as clinicians and researchers on one side, and as seekers of mental health support on the other. What we came to realise is that the process of finding a psychologist in Australia is both overwhelming and confusing.
Most people don't know where to start their search for a psychologist, and when they do end up finding someone, not knowing if that person is the right fit for them. The pattern was always the same; people end up on Google receiving endless search results with little guidance, or at their GP and receiving a referral which may be outdated or a poor fit.
On the other hand, we found that clinicians were spending more and more time on marketing and discoverability, and less time seeing patients. Clinicians spoke of high client turnover or ill-fitting referrals.
So we built what we kept wishing existed: one place where anyone could go to find a psychologist, and a platform that treats fit as the starting point rather than an afterthought. Clients tell us what they are dealing with and what they need practically. Psychologists tell us how they actually practise. Pair matches the two.
Pair is Australian-built and clinician-led, and every profile on it belongs to an AHPRA-registered psychologist. We are passionate about accessible mental health, and our mission is to make finding mental health support simple.
Founded and run by psychologists and researchers, not a marketplace built from the outside in.
Every psychologist listed on Pair is AHPRA-registered and verified before their profile goes live.
Built in Australia for Australian care pathways, Medicare rebates and payment types.
